Ambassadors are our independent and trusted IoT-industry heavyweights. In addition, they are friends of Pycom, know our technology and help others understand the good, the bad and the ugly truth about us and our products.

Simon Chapple

Formerly Chief Technology Officer at Datalytics Technology Limited, Simon is passionate about new technology products. He’s been delivering tech to customers for the past 30 years and has now swapped the commercial ventures for a stint in education. He is in charge of driving forward the connected strategies located at the University of Edinburgh, and runs a regular hands-on IoT workshop for the students there. He is principle author of “Mastering Parallel Programming with R” and joint author of the open source ROpenCL package. Simon is attracted to complex challenges and the design and build of innovative high quality solutions while marrying technical innovation with strategic and commercial business needs.

Marco Zennaro

Marco Zennaro is a researcher at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, where he coordinates the Telecommunications/ICT4D Laboratory. He received his PhD from the KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, and his MSc degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Trieste. His research interest is in ICT4D, the use of ICT for Development, and in particular he investigates the use of Internet of Things for Development (#IoT4D). He has organized more than 30 training activities on IoT in Developing Countries. Marco is a Visiting Professor at Kobe Institute of Computing (KIC) in Kobe, Japan.Marco Zennaro is a Technology lecturer at the University of Trieste, Italy.

Roberto Colistete-Junior

Roberto is a Brazilian physicist working in theoretical gravitation and cosmology, currently as  professor at the Rural Engineering Department of UFES-CCA (Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo – Centro de Ciências Agrárias). Host of many workshops and  hackathons around the world, Roberto  has been teaching students and others how to get up on running with MicroPython, LoRa and a whole host of other technology.

Ralf Ackerman

Ralf is another tech super-weight! With a degree in Computer Sciences, a PhD, more than 50 peer-reviewed academic papers published, a book on IP Telephony under his belt and a stint as an expert for the European Commission. He is an absolute expert in Networking, Quality of Service (IntServ, DiffServ) and Multimedia / IP Telephony Signalling as well as the full IoT protocol stack. Since 2006, he’s been a SAP development manager where he builds hardware and prototypes used for SAP IoT projects. He authored and supports the IoT Starterkit for the SAP Cloud Platform Internet of Things too. Ralf enjoys working with Open Source and has been active with MicroPython and Pycom hardware since its early beginning. He tweets as: @_rac01

John Cassidy

John Cassidy, CIO of Aeternum Innovations Ltd and founder of GasX is a veteran technologist and Ambassador. He’s the chap who continues to blow our minds with the distance records on LoRa networks while continuing to contribute a load of other really cool stuff …anything from drones and Geospatial Mapping, to Cloud and productisation to the IoT industry. He’s been a positive voice from the North for Pycom from the early days and knows a ton of stuff about our tech, radio in general, IoT devices, networking and much more.
