For the past three years Pycom has been focused on helping developers get through the phases of solution development from idea to connected product and in doing so have built a 325,000 strong community of LPWAN developers. The workshops will help simplify development for LoRa-based applications. Going one step further, arriving at a connected device that can scale has never been easier now that these new workshops are happening all over the world.
The main aim is for Pycom and partners to get participants up and running, teaching them how to create and connect a device to the internet so that all participants walk out with a proof of concept that is well connected to an LPWAN network.
The series is sponsored and supported by a number of longstanding Pycom partners including Espressif, Mouser, Sequans, Semtech, The Digital Catapult and Vodafone.

One partner is Semtech, the global supplier of high performance analogue / mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms. Semtech is well known for its investment and support in bringing to market LoRa technology. Semtech will be participating in the GOINVENT world series as a global partner as LoRa becomes the de factor platform for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Thanks to the cooperation between both companies, Pycom will be shipping its new 8-Channel LoRa gateway, the Pygate, this Summer. We’ve applied our own methods which will see us go from idea to launch in six months. That’s a typical example of spirit of GOINVENT and a typical example of the Semtech and Pycom relationship,” said de Haro.

The workshop event in at Clontarf Castle Dublin on April 30 is the first of more than 30 events taking place through 2019 and 2020.
Tickets for the Dublin event are sold out and are selling fast for all other events. This is proof that developer communities are interested and willing to mobilise to get a first-hand brush with the Pycom know-how and product development philosophies.
