Electronic chip manufacturers, distributors and network partners alike have come together to support Pycom’s developer community initiative The GOINVENT World Series.
It’s a 2-year program that brings Pycom and partner teams to all regions of the world to teach, engage and learn from communities what other barriers to IoT Pycom can remove.
Starting in Europe, the #GOINVENT World Series kicked off with a fizz in Dublin in April 2019. It has since hosted 200 developers in Pycom’s home of Eindhoven, Berlin and Madrid and participant feedback is really positive.
Each event features a walk through the set up and use of the multi-network development board – The FiPy and additional workshop content is added on the day as participant make their requests. So far, ad hoc pieces of content have included Pymesh, security, deep sleep modes, cellular networking and specific LPWAN and LoRa network features. Each workshop aims to get participants connected to the local ThingsNetwork too.
The next workshop, before the US and APAC tours this Autumn, is taking place in London at the Digital Catapult on Tuesday 16th July 2019.
This Workshop will feature special NB-IoT content from Vodafone, Sigfox updates and a very special session on power measurements in various modes.
Without partner support, this community activity would not be possible. The whole series includes global sponsorship within the technology industry from Mouser, Espressif, Semtech as well as local sponsorships from Sequans, Sigfox, Vodafone and the Digital Catapult itself. Partners have provided content for the workshops, and will be joining Pycom for the industry expert Question and Answer sessions at the end of each event.
