Acceptable Use Policy for Vodafone SIMs and Network Services

This acceptable use policy covers your usage obligations for your Pycom-supplied Vodafone SIMs and Network services. It forms part of your contract with us, along with your Subscription or Prepaid Agreement terms. This policy sets out your usage obligations, what you can do to avoid breaching the policy and what happens if your usage is deemed to breach the policy.


Use of our Vodafone SIMs and Network Services

You have an obligation to use the SIMs and Services for business use purposes only. Your use of the SIMs and services should not exceed what you have subscribed to in your contract. Failure to adhere to the policy may mean a loss of, or restriction to your service as supplied by Pycom. Below is a non-exhaustive list of your obligations and the types of activity which you should avoid.


Make sure you use the Network Services and SIM cards for business purposes only. You must not use our services or SIM cards for consumers.




  • Use the SIMs in conjunction with non-Pycom IoT devices
  • Use the SIMs or Services for use cases that are not related to Internet of Things
  • Use the SIMs or Services in conjunction with other IoT Platforms where they are the primary recipient of the connection, it will not work. Pycom provides APIs with which data can be retrieved from the Pybytes platform
  • Use the SIMs in mobile phones, laptops, PCs or Tablets nor in any other consumer devices
  • Use the SIMs to attempt to connect to non-Vodafone NB-Iot Networks. This will not work


You may resell our SIMs and Services, but you must notify Pycom prior to this happening.

You must not use our services or SIM cards for fraudulent or criminal purposes, or in a way that’s in breach of law (including making calls, sending messages or posting or downloading content which is, offensive, defamatory, indecent or a nuisance.



What happens if your usage falls outside the acceptable usage policy?


If we suspect you’re not adhering to our Acceptable Use Policy, we reserve the right to impose further charges on you and/or disconnect your SIM card(s) or contract at any time.


We’ll attempt to contact you if we need to disconnect your service.





If you’re using the service in a way which we or Vodafone believe is harmful to the Vodafone NB-IoT Network we may revoke access to your services, impose further charges on your account or we may disconnect your SIM(s).


We will attempt to notify you before any disconnection takes place.
